April 4, 2020 (Sat) - Spring Egg Hunt at Pacific Beach Recreation Center from 9:30AM - 12:30PM. (<<<All Recreation Centers in San Diego are closed until further notice so this egg hunt is CANCELED.Bring your own basket. Free egg hunt. Egg Hunt schedule is by age group starting with babies first at 10AM. Egg hunts are are ages 0 - 12 years old. There will be fun filled activities including arts & crafts, a meet and greet with Peter Rabbit, candy filled eggs, and more! April 12, 2020 (Sun) - Annual Easter Bash at Belmont Park from 8AM - 5PM. Free admission and parking. (<<<Belmont Park is temporarily closed so this event has a high possibility of being canceled.Festivities include egg hunts on the beach (Pre-Purchased Tickets Required), FREE egg hunts in the park, plus other FREE activities, including an Easter Bunny photo op, live entertainment, and other fun. On the boardwalk, guests can feast on Easter brunch at Draft or enjoy the Mimosa Bubbles Bar with a live DJ at Beach House. The egg hunts on the beach and in the park will nest 40,000+ fun-filled eggs and a limited supply of Golden Eggs with exclusive prize packs ranging from day passes for all-day fun in the park to restaurant gift cards and more. May 2, 2020 (Sat) - San Diego Dragon Boat Festival in Mission Bay from 9AM - 4pm (now CANCELLED by organizer due to precaution against Coronavirus Covid-19). Great family-friendly event. Enjoy watching local community teams compete in dragon boat racing! There are food vendors and cultural performances throughout the day.

Free Things to Do


Pacific Beach Public Library (Taylor Library) (Note: This library is closed through April 6, 2020 in defense against the spread of Coronavirus Covid-19)

Located at 4275 Cass St., San Diego, California, the Pacific Beach Public Library hosts a lot of free events for both kids and adults! With free story time and seasonal events, kids can come here to enjoy some fun while checking out books as well. They have a special children's area for the kids. Check out the event list above for upcoming events! They are usually open 7 days a week, unless there is a holiday. 

Kate Sessions Park

This park offers one of the best scenic views in San Diego! There are also seasonal free concerts and events here throughout the year. On a nice day, you can always take the kids for a picnic, fly a kite or go for a little hike. This park is also very dog-friendly. Address: 5115 Soledad Rd, San Diego, CA 92109

Pacific Beach Tuesday Farmers Market (currently suspended as a precaution against Covid-19)

Take a stroll around this weekly farmers market in Pacific Beach. It takes place every Tuesday from 2pm - 7pm. Find fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, meats, cheeses, eggs, breads, flowers, sauces, dips, and spreads, along with gourmet dining options & handcrafted artisan works on Bayard St. between Garnet & Grand. Only a few blocks from the ocean too! 

Local Mom Groups

Becoming a mom is a great milestone and finding other moms to share experiences is helpful and a great bonding relationship. Here are some local mom groups near or in Pacific Beach. 

La Leache League (breastfeeding support groups)

Meeting every first Thursday of the month from 10:30AM - 11:30AM, this group is great for mothers looking for breastfeeding advice or support. The location of the closest group is at the North Clairemont Library. Address: 4616 Clairemont Dr., San Diego, CA 92117

Pacific Beach MOPS and MOMsNext Group

Join Pacific Beach MOPS for a monthly MOPS meeting at St. Andrew's by-the-Sea! MOPS is for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOMSnext includes moms who have older children. They meet the second Tuesday of every month! They welcome all moms to come join for coffee, to talk, learn, grow in faith and develop friendships while our kids play together! Stroller Strides Mission Bay 

Stroller Strides is an exercise group for moms who have kids in tow. This makes it very convenient when childcare is an issue when needing to get a work out. You just bring the kiddos with you in their strollers. The work outs are amazing and are usually outside and near a playground. This particular chapter is right in Mission Bay and has morning work outs every day except for Sunday. See Stroller Strides Mission Bay details. MeetUp.com Mom Groups

There are dozens of mom groups that you can find on Meetup.com for the San Diego area. There are many that do play dates and group outings. To create a Meetup.com account is free. It only costs money if you join a particular group that requires you to pitch in a member fee so browse at MeepUp.com to find a group that's more suitable for you.

Pacific Beach Recreation Center (Note: All San Diego Recreation Centers, including this one, are closed)

PB Kids 
Children will enjoy a morning of fun and safe activities that will provide exercise and enhance motor and cognitive skills. Parent or guardian must accompany their children for this program. *All parents and guardians will need to sign a Waiver and Release of Liability Waiver in order to participate. It's always free and is held at Pacific Beach Recreation Center at 1405 Diamond St, San Diego, CA 92109.

Teen Center
This recreation center also has a teen center for ages 11 - 15! This is for fun filled activities after school. This recreation park has 2 lighted outdoor basketball courts, two lighted tennis courts, a lighted multi-purpose athletic field, a sand tot lot, gymnasiums used for basketball and volleyball, three meeting rooms, a weight room, a game room, and a kitchen. Belmont Park

SeaWorld San Diego

Located in Mission Bay, SeaWorld is one of the most popular marine parks in the world. They now have amazing rides throughout the park for adventurers.
