Dec 1, 2018 (Sat) - Christmas on Crystal Pier (Pacific Beach) from 2pm - 5pm. Take your holiday pictures with Santa at the end of Crystal Pier on Saturday, December 1st from 2:00- 5:00pm. There will be tree lighting at sunset and festive wreaths decorated by local community groups and businesses. Pictures will be $10 or $5 if you make a donation of school supplies to help our local PB schools. PLEASE BE AWARE, YOU ARE NOT GUARANTEED A PICTURE IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 3:45PM. THE LAST PICTURE WILL BE TAKEN AT 5PM. Some needed school supplies include: Hand sanitizer (big family size bottles), Sanitizing wipes, Kleenex boxes, Color copy paper 8 X 11 ½ (any color), and white copy paper 8 X 11 ½, Staplers and staples, Adult scissors, Post its, White cardstock paper, Spiral notebooks, Glue sticks, Colored pencils and markers. Dec 14, 2018 (Fri) - EcoDistrict Holiday Lane presented by beautifulPB from 4pm - 8pm from Ingraham to Mission Blvd. The 1 st Annual EcoDistrict Holiday Lane presented by beautifulPB, in collaboration with the PBEcoDistrict Partners will be closing Garnet Avenue between Ingraham Street & Mission Blvd for a community-wide holiday village. Garnet will be a vehicle-less street, with a two-way 20’ Mobility Lane down the center for bikes, skateboards, skates, electric scooters with (4) Round-abouts. Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians only. Vacant retail space will be activated with local artists and makers of handmade goods for holiday Shop Local shopping. Lots of kids activities. Dec 15, 2018 (Sat) - Santa Run in Pacific Beach from 8AM - 1PM. Must purchase ticket online. The 6th Annual San Diego Santa Run is a holiday experience like none other in San Diego! The event will consist of a series of runs that will take place on Garnet Ave. featuring a 5K fun run and 1 mile run waves that include run with your dog, kids run, and a competitive wave. Come out in your finest (or ugliest) Christmas attire as you take part in this one-of-a-kind holiday experience. Then stick around to watch the annual Pacific Beach Holiday Parade!
Dec 15, 2018 (Sat) - Pacific Beach Holiday Parade. Parade starts at 1pm! The parade route is on Garnet Ave from Haines to Bayard Streets.
Local Mom Groups
Becoming a mom is a great milestone and finding other moms to share experiences is helpful and a great bonding relationship. Here are some local mom groups near or in Pacific Beach.
La Leache League (breastfeeding support groups)
Meeting every first Thursday of the month from 10:30AM - 11:30AM, this group is great for mothers looking for breastfeeding advice or support. The location of the closest group is at the North Clairemont Library. Address: 4646 Clairemont Dr., San Diego, CA 92117
MOPS of Balboa Ave (Canyon View Church)
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and are Christian-based but accepts all mothers with children from 0-5 years old. This one on Balboa Ave meets every Thurs from 10AM - 11;30AM with childcare drop off starting at 9:45AM. There is usually a fee for joining a MOPS group as a member. The great thing about MOPS is that they usually have childcare while you meet with other moms. Location: Canyon View Church 4292 Balboa Ave., San Diego, CA 92117
MOPS of Point Loma
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and are Christian-based but accepts all mothers with children from 0-5 years old. This one is located in Point Loma and meets every other Monday from 9:30AM - 11:30AM. There is usually a fee for joining a MOPS group as a member. This one looks very active from their website. MeetUp.com Mom Groups
There are dozens of mom groups that you can find on Meetup.com for the San Diego area. Although I couldn't find one particular specific to the Pacific Beach area, there are many that do play dates and group outings. Some are more active than others and some also require you to pitch in for fees, while others don't.
Free Things to Do
Pacific Beach Public Library (Taylor Library)
Located at 4275 Cass St., San Diego, California, the Pacific Beach Public Library hosts a lot of free events for both kids and adults! With free story time and seasonal events, kids can come here to enjoy some fun while checking out books as well. They have a special children's area for the kids. Check out the event list on the left for upcoming events! They are usually open 7 days a week, unless there is a holiday.
Kate Sessions Park
This park offers one of the best scenic views in San Diego! There are also seasonal free concerts and events here throughout the year. On a nice day, you can always take the kids for a picnic, fly a kite or go for a little hike. This park is also very dog-friendly. Address: 5115 Soledad Rd, San Diego, CA 92109
Pacific Beach Tuesday Farmers Market
Take a stroll around this weekly farmers market in Pacific Beach. It takes place every Tuesday from 2pm - 7pm. Find fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, meats, cheeses, eggs, breads, flowers, sauces, dips, and spreads, along with gourmet dining options & handcrafted artisan works on Bayard St. between Garnet & Grand.Only a few blocks from the ocean too!

Pacific Beach Recreation Center
This recreation center has a teen center for ages 11 - 15! This is for fun filled activities after school.
his recreation park has 2 lighted outdoor basketball courts, two lighted tennis courts, a lighted multi-purpose athletic field, a sand tot lot, gymnasiums used for basketball and volleyball, three meeting rooms, a weight room, a game room, and a kitchen. Address: 1405 Diamond St.
